Privacy Policy
This page explains how personal data is handled when you visit yeric.ch. It is written to meet the transparency requirements of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP / nLPD) and, where visitors are located in the EU/EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
The controller for the processing described here is:
Yeric Gollut
Gryon, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland
Email: yericgollut@gmail.com
Phone: +41 79 856 51 79
2. What this Site is
yeric.ch is a personal portfolio. It has no online shop, no user accounts or registration, no newsletter, and no visitor comment function. It is not directed at children.
3. Data processed when you visit
3.1 Server log files
When you access the Site, the hosting provider automatically records technical information in server log files: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system (user agent).
- Purpose: delivering the Site, ensuring stability and security, and diagnosing faults.
- Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 31 nFADP; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: log files are kept by the host for a short period and then deleted or anonymised. [To confirm exact retention with Infomaniak.]
3.2 Hosting
The Site is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland, on infrastructure located in Switzerland. Infomaniak processes data on the controller’s behalf as a processor under a data-processing agreement.
3.3 Cookies and local storage
The Site aims to use only technically necessary storage. This can include a cache cookie set by the performance plugin (WP Super Cache) and small values kept in your browser’s local storage for display preferences and animations. These are not used to track you or to build a profile.
Additional cookies may be set by embedded third-party content — see section 4.
4. Third-party services and content
4.1 Embedded videos (YouTube)
Some pages embed videos from YouTube, operated by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. When a page containing an embedded video loads, your IP address is transmitted to Google and Google may set cookies. This happens whether or not you press play, unless a click-to-load or privacy-enhanced mode is used.
4.2 Web fonts
The Site uses the typefaces Space Grotesk, Inter and JetBrains Mono. If these are loaded from Google’s servers (Google Fonts), your IP address is transmitted to Google when the fonts are fetched. [To confirm: whether the fonts are self-hosted; if so, no data is sent to Google and this paragraph can be removed.]
4.3 Local weather display
The homepage shows current weather for a fixed location (Gryon). This information is retrieved from a third-party weather API [provider to be named]. It relates to a fixed place and does not use your device’s location.
4.4 Search engine optimisation
The Site uses the Rank Math SEO plugin, which runs on the server and does not track visitors. The controller has connected Google Search Console to view aggregated, non-identifying search statistics (search terms, impressions, clicks) provided by Google for the domain. No web analytics tool (such as Google Analytics or Matomo) is installed on the Site. [Confirm this remains true.]
4.5 Transfers outside Switzerland / the EEA
Where services operated by Google are involved (sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.4), data may be transferred to the United States. Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension, and on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, as transfer safeguards.
5. Contacting the controller
If you contact the controller by email or phone, the content of your message and your contact details are processed solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up. The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in responding, or the taking of steps at your request prior to a possible contract. This correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and to comply with any legal retention obligations, then deleted.
6. Your rights
Subject to the conditions and limits of applicable law, you have the right to:
- obtain information about whether and how your personal data is processed, and request a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
- request deletion or restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive data you provided in a common electronic format, and where technically feasible have it transmitted to another controller;
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.
To exercise these rights, contact the controller using the details in section 1. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:
- Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / PFPDT), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern — www.edoeb.admin.ch.
- EU/EEA: the data protection authority of your country of residence or workplace.
7. Data security
The Site is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The controller and the hosting provider take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Site or to legal requirements. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the revision date shown at the top.
This policy is provided for transparency. It is not legal advice; the controller is responsible for verifying that it matches the Site’s actual data processing before publication.
